Hello Neighbors!
Come spend a little time with us during our event tomorrow, Saturday, August 22nd 10 am -12 noon. Catch up with neighbors, enjoy some lemonade and get your questions answered about energy and environmental initiatives. Is solar a good investment? How do I know what native plants or trees to plant? How are we caretakers for our environment? What programs and resources does the county have to help?
The experts will be on Calla Drive and Forest Lane. Come for a tour of solar and battery storage (5900 Calla) at 10 am, 10:30, 11 or 11:30. Talk to a coach from goelectricdmv.org for ideas on boosting your home’s energy efficiency. If you’ve wondered how a heat-pump works, now’s the time to get your questions answered!
Have questions about native plants and trees? Get answers from the master gardners along Calla, and check out the landscape conservation beds and the new trees planted through the CWCA Tree Planting program at 1508 Forest (on the gravel road) just down the street from Calla and Forest. Pick up a soil testing kit and information on managing the dreaded spotted lantern fly.
Connect with neighbors, get questions answered and enjoy some refreshments!
Best Regards,
CWCA Environmental Committee
p.s. we’re keeping an eye on tomorrow’s weather and send an email update if we need to move the event to Sunday, August 23rd 10 am-noon.
